On April 8, 2015 at approximately 1:40 PM, the Minocqua Police Department along with Woodruff Police Department, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT) and the Wisconsin DNR responded to a residence on Nutter Road in Minocqua, WI for the report of an armed male subject who was threatening to commit suicide. The male subject reported to the Crisis Center of Green Bay that he was going to commit suicide. The male subject reported he is well equipped to do so and if law enforcement was sent to his residence there would be bloodshed.
Emergency Units responded to the male subject’s residence and made contact with him. The male subject was unresponsive to any direction given to him by responding units. The male subject attempted to arm himself with a handgun after Emergency Units made contact with him. Emergency Units disarmed the male subject and took him into custody. The male subject was transported to the Howard Young Medical Center emergency room by ambulance. The male subject was placed on an emergency detention by law enforcement.
This incident is still under investigation and specific details of the investigation are not being released at this time.
