Buckskin Trail One Vehicle Crash
On September 14, 2016 at approximately 9:05 AM, the Minocqua Police Department responded to the report of a one vehicle crash on the north end (dead end) of Buckskin Trail. It was reported an unoccupied vehicle was found at the dead end of Buckskin Trail crashed into a tree with the air bags deployed. In addition, it was reported that a suspicious male subject was found walking from the area in which the vehicle crashed into the tree. Minocqua PD officers responded and arrived on scene at 9:29 AM.
Upon arrival, the MPD officer found a 2005 Chevrolet truck bearing Wisconsin registration JR2463 had left the roadway and crashed into a tree. The MPD officer ran the license plate through the MPD dispatch and found the vehicle to be stolen out of the Slinger, WI area.
MPD officers conducted a search of the area and found a male subject matching the description of the suspicious male walking from the accident at a trailer on vacant land located on Black Oak Road. When approached by the MPD officer, the male subject fled the area on foot into the surrounding wooded areas.
An MPD officer made contact with two juvenile females (14 and 15 YOA) at the trailer located on the property on Black Oak Road. The two juvenile females were found to be juvenile runaways out of the Oshkosh, WI area. Two male subjects were also found to be in the trailer and fled from the MPD officer on foot into the surrounding wooded areas. A search ensued for the three male subjects who fled into the wooded area. One juvenile male subject (16 YOA) and two adult male subjects were located and taken into custody at approximately 5:01 PM. The juvenile male subject was found to be listed as a runaway from a juvenile group home out of the Winnebago County, WI area. The two adult male subjects were identified as Dylan J Dewhurst (M/W, DOB 01/30/1998, 18 YOA) from Oshkosh, WI and David Alexander Mack (M/W, DOB 05/02/1998, 18 YOA) from Appleton, WI. Dewhurst and Mack were transported to the Oneida County Jail.
Charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, receiving/concealing stolen property (exceeding $5000 but not exceeding $10000), fail to comply w/ officers attempt to take person into custody and contributing to delinquency of child (3 counts) are being forwarded to the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office for review on Dewhurst.
Charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, receiving/concealing stolen property (exceeding $5000 but not exceeding $10000), fail to comply w/ officers attempt to take person into custody, contributing to delinquency of child (3 counts) and bail jumping (misdemeanor offense) are being forwarded to the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office for review on Mack. Mack was also found to be on probation and parole and have 3 active arrest warrants out at the time of his arrest.
The MPD officers received assistance from the following agencies in the search, apprehension and medical care of the three male subjects: Woodruff Police Department, Wisconsin DNR, Lac Du Flambeau Tribal Police, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Rhinelander Police Department – K9, Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission (GLIFWC), Newbold Fire Department – Drone and Howard Young Medical Center Med 4 Ambulance.
