MISSING PERSON FROM THE BEACONS IN MINOCQUA, WI

At approximately 4:48 PM on May 18, 2018, the Minocqua Police Department responded to the Beacons of Minocqua located at 8250 Northern Road for the report of a 68-year-old missing/walkaway Alzheimer’s person, Susanne Marie Meseberg of Wausau, WI.  Upon arrival, officers immediately started search protocol.  Meseberg was located at approximately 9:47 PM at the North Trout Lake Campground just south of Boulder Junction, WI.  It is believed that Meseberg walked from the Beacons of Minocqua to where she was located.  Units from the search party responded to Meseberg’s location and transported her back to the Beacons of Minocqua where she was reunited with her family.

Assisting the Minocqua Police Department in the search for Meseberg were the Minocqua Fire and Rescue Department, Newbold Search and Rescue, Arbor Vitae Rescue, Hazelhurst Fire Department, the Oneida County Dive Team, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Little Rice Canteen Unit, Oneida County Emergency Management, the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office, and the Woodruff Police Department.

The Minocqua Police Department would like to express their gratitude for all involved in the search efforts which helped return Meseberg back to her family safely.
