Narcotics Investigation – The Pointe Hotel & Suites, Minocqua, WI
On January 12, 2019 at approximately 8:52 a.m., the Minocqua Police Department took a report of suspicious activity at The Pointe Hotel & Suites, Minocqua, WI. Staff members reported that there was suspicious activity in one of the rooms at their hotel. Officers collected information from staff members about activity and started an investigation. Based on the information collected by Officers, it was believed that there was narcotic related activity occurring in one of the rooms at hotel. On January 13, 2019 at approximately 2:05 a.m., officers made entry into a room at the hotel and detained multiple subjects. As a result of the investigation, Tawnie R Demaray, 22, of Lac Du Flambeau was arrested and charged with the following: Possession of Methamphetamine with intent to deliver, Possession of Heroin, Possession of THC, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Felony Bail Jumping, Felony Warrant out of Vilas County, Misdemeanor Warrant out of Oneida County, and Misdemeanor Warrant from the Department of Corrections.
The Minocqua Police Department was assisted by the following agencies: Woodruff Police Department, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Vilas County Sheriff’s Office, Lac Du Flambeau Tribal Police Department, and Oneida County EMS (Medic 5).
